Confused.

Hi
There is something I'm confused on. I've been talking to different People about becoming Wiccan. I've been studying etc Wicca for 5 years and I want to progress further but I'm having mixed messages. Some People say I can go Solitary. Which is what I want to do. But others say I need to join a Coven. But as far as I know there aren't any Covens near me to even ask about this. Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me?

Martin,

whether you join a coven or practice solitare it's up to you, there's no wrong way. The phrase that you will hear most in wicca is "do what feels right." There are people who feel that practicing solitare gives you the benefit of connecting with the god/dess on a deeper level, and the ablility to learn and adapt your own style. Me personally, I'm a solitary witch, but maybe one day I'll consider a coven.

Thank you. That does help. I want to be a Solitary Wiccan and one day I might consider a Coven but I don't want to be forced into a Coven when I'm not ready to join one. So what you said did help.

Oh no! you should never feel forced to do anything! And if you do wish to seek out a coven, you should not join if you feel uncomfortable, or are told you need to do things that you don't want to! That's not the way it works.

I want to go Solitary and then join a Coven when I'm ready. I do want to join a Coven I just don't think it's for me at this point.
