These are some of the most common ones. There are way too many gods and goddesses to list. I know this board is called "Wiccan Wisdom," but honestly I don't think there really are any Wiccans on here.

Surely there must be one.

I'm a Pagan, but I don't consider myself Wiccan. I came here because I believe in sharing knowledge, and was impressed by some of what I saw.

I'm glad that you point that out. Many think they can be Wiccan without being Pagan, but it's the other way around. I just consider myself a witch or a spiritualist. I claim no title or affiliation. I do and believe as I please or see fit.

Sometimes I can be confused by it either. Wicca and Paganism are similar but what is the difference between them?

I could be wrong, but I believe that Wicca and Paganism are on two different categories. I think Wicca is a Pagan religion, just as voodoo, santeria, etc are also, classified as pagan. You see what I'm saying. Paganism is a classification for which many somewhat similar beliefs/religions fall under.

Wicca is considered a form of Paganism as Paganism is an umbrella term for polytheistic religions.
Paganism in the western world (us) takes a number of forms including Wicca, Druidism, and Shamanism.
A good place for information on it,

Kinda like with Christianity. Catholic, babtists, etc. are all under the christian subcategory.

i know this is an older topic (around 2 months since the last post) both my wife and I are wiccan, as far as i am concerned Pagan is not a religion but just an umbrella term / category of religions and spiritual practices that predates christianity and all of its decendants

I am wiccan...i follow the teachings of Ray Buckland and Scott Cunningham. yes Wicca is a Pagan religion...some see paganism as religions tied to nature, some see it as any religion where you dont believe in the "almighty" GOD, and some see Paganism as any religion where you worship more than one deity. and personally i dont care if you are wiccan and on here...i come to share knowledge and learn and meet more pagan people.

I'm Pagan, but not Wiccan. I honestly can't find a name that really suits what I believe, but I'm still looking.
Anyway, I was wondering if I could add names of various gods to this thread with the information of those gods for anyone wishing to look into them.

I'll join in as well I think.
Frej/Frey
From the Norse mythology. He's not of the Asa blood line but of the Vaner one. Twin brother of Freja/Freya.
Is the got of love and fertility. He has a boar called Gullinborsti and the horse Blodighove. In the Icelandic stories he is said to be the ancestor of the Swedish royal bloodline called Ynglingaätten.
He is traditionally celebrated the 18 of may whit the Frejblot. It is also tradition to carry a statue of Frej across new seeded fields so that he will bless them whit a good harvest.
He also goes by: Frö, Yngvi, Yngvi-Frej and Freyr

Just to add a bit to Thebs's post, since I also honor the Germanic Gods:
Another name for Frey is Ing (probably another spelling of Yngvi), though I think they are really just the same or similar names from different old European languages. Some sources say that the rune Inguz is Frey's rune, which looks like a diamond. Probably where the name of the rune comes from.

After looking back through this thread and seeing how derailed it got, I think it is good to fix it. I think that learning about and discussing the different Deities that we believe in is a very good thing. After the post about Frey, it seems only right to post about His sister, Freya.
Freya has been a Matron of mine almost since I first began learning about Paganism. I have always loved that She is a Goddess of love and fertility, but also of war. I'm sure everyone has heard of Freya and Her Valkyries taking the honored dead to the realm of the Gods. I have read in some places indications of Her and Frigg (Odin’s wife) being the same, but I do not believe that this is true. For one, Freya is a Vanir and Frigg is an As. Freya is also an example of something that, at least as far as I know, is unique to the Norse Gods. That is the idea that although They are much greater than us in all things, They are still not perfect. Freya was willing to do almost anything to get Her necklace.
Still, I have always thought of Her as an example of female strength and might, something that is all too often absent from our generally patriarchal modern culture. I suspect that the rune Inguz may in fact be Freya’s rune, rather than Her brother’s. If you think about it you can probably guess why it might lend itself more to being a female shape than a male shape. Unfortunately much that had been written about the Norse Gods was lost when the Christianization of Europe happened, so I try to fill in the gaps in what the tradition says (or places where tradition may have been altered through the years) with my own experiences, beliefs, and rationale. I think that this is okay as long as you state that you’re doing it.
