Hi, my name is Mike, Im 16, and Im new to all of this. I gained an interest in
Wicca about a month ago, and am trying to learn about it as much as I can.
Im trying to figure out how to tell my parents about this, and that's got to be the one of the hardest parts of becoming Wicca. I joined this forum to gain more knowledge of Wicca and to learn everything I possibly can. Well
I would also like to thank everybody who may be able to help me, and I will
try my best to help everyone else as well. Well, thats about all I have to
say, and thank you for your time.

Welcome!

Your parents, they how liberal are they?
My mom has no trouble with me bein atheist, but she'd be freaked if I told her I was a Satanist(Luckily that can easily be kept secret). Then again, she was married to a pagan till 3 yrs ago.

Well, I just talked to my mom recently, and she said
that she wants me to choose my own path of
beliefs. She told me I should go to various
churches to find out what I want to do, but there
aren't any places like that for Wicca. So Im guessing
she still wants me to believe in the God
that Christians worship?confused:And then she
said that lighting incense and candles and doing
those types of things is dumb, so I got a little
mad. I said that that I dont like the fact that
a lot of Christians call everybody else that doesnt
follow there beliefs is a Satanist. Thats just dumb
all in itself! I dont believe in God or Satan that
Christians believe in, so how does that all work
out? Well, thats all I talked to my mom about sorry
if this may be a long post.:violin: Oh, and for my
dad, I havent talked to him about this yet. And I
have a feeling that I dont want to. He'll probably
say something like, "What your doing is gay" or
at least something similar to that. Anyways, thank
you all for your time!:signthankspin:Once again,
sorry if this is a long post. I can be a talkative
person at times.lol

I guess it wouldn’t totally break her heart for you to say that you have found your path already, and that it isn’t a Christian one. (I am sure you could say it much more nicely than my example)
As for the rituals, tell her that they help you focus on improving spiritually.

And after that, just let it go naturally. You are lucky!

As for your dad, just don’t tell him. He wouldn’t understand, so don’t waste your breath. Tell him after you’ve moved out, safer that way.

Good luck.

P.S. I always check my inbox here, if you wanna carry this on over PM, feel free to.

Yea Ill probably talk to her about it a little more, or
maybe Ill just let her find out I do it, cause Ill
eventually get caught considering I meditate in my
room and outside every night.

I don't believe in having to come out of the closet at all. Why bother? Spirituality is a personal thing and I rather not get into a "political" type discussion about it with closed minded people. So don't feel like you have to tell anyone about it, even your parents. :ylflower:

Thats true.

Now if only it were that easy for my civil union plans in the future. Yep, that'd be quite a shock for my parents! *cough* but.. enough bout that!
