Sure by now ya'll have all heard the commotion bout 2012.
I've heard some odd things myself, such as there being a 2012 "Golden Age" that was supposedly predicted by the Mayan calendar(the claim being made by supporters of the Golden Age idea; the calendar simply stops on 2012).
Lotta peeps believe the world will be destroyed on the winter solstice of 2012 or that it and it's inhabitants will evolve.
People in the latter group often contribute the ascension to aliens.
Then there are those who believe a star-planet called Nibiru(saying the dwarf-planet Eris is Nibiru) will cross between Jupiter and Mars.
Just outta fun curiousity, what are ya'lls' thoughts?
Me, I'm neutral in this, Im sure, though, that with all this commotion something will happen, even if it's just disappointed/relieved people.

LOL and I'm obsessed with the history channel! I saw that episode and caught that too. How could a tarot junkie not? I gotta say though guys, I kinda believe that 2012 issue. It's like relief and "oh shit!" at the same time!
Same response! :wedgie:

Forget 2012 if Clinton or McCain take office, we'll be gone before that!
I think it's like the whole Y2K thing, except the fact that it's the end of the Mayan calender and that freaks me out just a tad. On the other hand, I don't know much about Mayans or their calendar, so I don't know how much water that bears. :witch_prv:

Thought you'd say that, Silver. lol
Well, at least Obama is ahead of Clinton(at least he was last I checked).
With all the hell the republicans have put us through, lately, McCain might not make it; keep em crossed.

I don't remember where I read this...It may of been a class I was taking. Well that doesn't matter to much. The Mayan calendar already ended. Our calender works in an insanely ineffective way. Once you add up the years and do all the insane things our calender requires the Mayan calender ended many years ago. I will look around and post a link.
So in short, sorry no apocalypses ^_^

I don't agree with all the hype...but you can't say that everything won't end on that year. I mean, who knows? What if everything ends in 5 minutes? (Any moment may be your last)
You know where I'm coming from? ;)

Well, that's a relief! Actually, I was thinking the same thing, that their "time" isn't the same as our present-day time and calendar.
