Being that we are all on earth loving paths, I though it would be a good idea to share some tips on how to live green. Please feel free to add to the list.

Turn off the water while brushing teeth

Use canvas bags instead of plastic or paper while shopping

Make your own cleaning solution based on vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice

Recycle what you can

Reuse what you can

Use an aluminum bottle for water instead of buying plastics, fill it up with filtered water from your faucet

Turn off lights/T.V when you're not in the room

Use energy efficient light bulbs

Wash your clothes in cold water

Take shorter showers

Yesterday I actually followed the recycling truck after it came to our house. It kept trying to speed up and get away from me. To my horror, it went straight to the landfill and dumped all it's contents into the trash heap. WTF!!! >:O

I did some research on it, and found this:

clicky (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5279230/)

and this, which is even more disturbing:

recylcling bottles hurts the environment? (http://www.mindfully.org/Plastic/Recycling/Problem-With-Plastics5jun03.htm)

So really, the best bet is to get a water filter for your home and use reusable bottles.

Here you can take a poll on the issue:

...I voted, although I highly doubt that this poll will make much of an impression on our corrupt politicians.

Out of those, i'm most guilty of taking long, long showers :(
I sort of meditate in there, I just zone out, haha.

I'd say my main tips on being green are to be a charity shop/ second hand store user. Sometimes, the clothes still have the lables on! They're always washed it's great to buy things you intend to customise too.
it's cheaper, the money generally goes to a good cause and there are some real gems hidden on shelves - books, ornaments, crockery etc.

Plus it's a great place to offload a lot of things that are no longer of use to you, but are still in perfect working order.

One mans junk is another's treasure :)
