i have started using what i call a focus block ( i say this cause i dunno if any one else uses a tool similar to it ) in my spells and rituals. basically all it is is a peice of wood i found one day while hiking that caught my eye. i brought it home and wondered what i could do with it, i had many ideas but this one seemed the most practical. so what i did was melt down a few of my candles and poured the wax on top of the wood as evenly as i could. and what you do with it is while casting a spell, or preforming a ritual, you take your athame and carve the symbol you choose to use ( if you use drawn symbols ) into the wax. it helps me focus my energies toward the intended goal. it seems to work nicely for me, and i hope it will work well for any who choose to use it. i dunno if any one else already does something like this, but it was just an idea that worked well for me.
