Ok so I just bought the book Wicca: For the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham. I read on Amazon a lot of the reviews were really good, and I've heard a lot of positive things about the book. I just wanted to hear if it really is a book for beginners. Beyond that what are some other good books for beginners. Any help is appreciated =)

I posted this somewhere else, but for me, my first book was Simple Wicca by Michele Morgan. I found it to be an easy read and really strengthened my beliefs.

The Wicca Handbook by Eileen Holland was my first. Chosen based on calling and my preference for straight reference style information.

That book was the first I bought myself. I have bought most of his books since, I really enjoy his style of teaching, very informative and helpful. His herbal encyclopedia is useful too.
Silver Ravenwolf is my second favorite. Her books are amazing. And I also found Llewellyn's "Sabbats Almanac" great for holiday and celebratory facts. Happy hunting! |

This was my first book I found it easy to follow and a great reference when starting out. I just wish I had found one for the Witch downunder as we are in the sourthern hemisphere and our sabbats are different I found it difficult to convert them at first.

I think it is an excellent book for beginners and one I recommend often (as I do any of his other books)

I've also read this book and a few others and I've done lots of research on the internet. I love the books for research and just plain being able to touch, but the net has vast amounts of resources. The internet is the mecca place for reading materials, there is an answer for just about any questions you may have on Wicca here. Mab
